2 years ago I was commissioned to photograph some flowers for a new project - a book listing British grown cut flowers by season. Two entire growing seasons and more than 7,000 photos later the author, Claire Brown, is ready to publish.
Claire has launched the crowdfunding for the initial print run, and I'll include the link at the end of this post.
Floral Photography Meetup
I have offered to host a floral photography meetup as part of Claire's crowdfunding, and I would love to see you there.
Come and practise your shallow depth of field shots with an abundance of flowers to choose from. Work on your composition in this photogenic setting. Bring your macro lens and see if you can find a bee that will sit still long enough for you to catch the action.
Date: Saturday 16th June 2018, 2-5pm
Venue: Claire's flower farm in East Clandon, Surrey, UK (Plantpassion)
Cost: £25 for exclusive access to Claire's field for an afternoon of photography. She has agreed not to cut for florists that weekend, leaving the field full for photographers. I will be on hand throughout for photography advice. Numbers limited to 30. The British Flowers Book will be available to buy on the day for an extra £25. Claire will dispensing growing advice - bring all your cut flower garden questions as well.
BOOK BEFORE CROWDFUNDING CLOSES ON 11 DECEMBER

June is always fabulous on Claire's hill, and this is a truly unique opportunity to shoot the field in full bloom - you usually have to be there before dawn to catch the flowers before she picks them.
I'll help you get the best camera settings for the conditions and you'll leave with a bursting memory card.
Places are limited to 30, and you need to book before 11 December:
